Sustainably Powered Server

We provide a digital product which means we rely on server stability to keep our customers up and running. Servers are always on which means they have the potential to use a vast amount of energy over time. It is important our suppliers match our sustainable values and goals which is why we aligned with one that uses renewable sources.

Collabaro as a Sustainable Business Choice

1. Sustainable Reporting: Collabaro is able to produce Carbon Reduction Reports for customers using accurate data capture. This helps companies make more informed decisions, track performance and more accurately measure their own sustainability efforts in the long run.

2. Resources: Customers reduce their resource consumption with the increase of digital reporting which doesn’t need to be printed or physically delivered.

3. Travel: Collabaro provides full business visibility, a clearer overview of field activity means a reduction in unnecessary travel to and from jobs as well as the opportunity to deliver on some jobs remotely which previously would have needed attendance.

Social Impact

1. Mentoring: Our team contribute to the promotion of diversity in our field through voluntary mentoring schemes alongside educational institutes. Social diversity is essential for sustainability as it helps to improve decision-making, promote inclusive economic growth, foster social and community cohesion, ensure representation and accountability, and increase the capacity of society to adapt to the future.

2. Volunteering: We encourage our team to volunteer and raise money for causes that are important to them.

Travel

1. Transport: We have exchanged all company owned petrol/ diesel vehicles to electric powered vehicles. For times when travel is unavoidable we have made the switch to electric and encourage car-pooling whenever possible.

2. Events: It is helpful for us to attend events and meet our customers in person, however we must also take responsibility for the impact this has on our carbon footprint and ultimately on the planet. That is why we take the time to plan our yearly events schedule ahead of time and calculate the funds needed to offset this travel by the end of the year.

Remote Working

Remote working can be a more sustainable company set up in a number of ways:

1. Reduced Transportation Emissions: We employ people around the world yet do not contribute to any transport-related emissions. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency emissions coming from passenger cars and trucks is the largest contributor of greenhouse gas emissions in the US.

2. Energy Savings: Working from home leads to energy savings as an entire office does not need to be heated, cooled and lit even when not in use. We provide all our employees with a sustainable guide to home working to give them control over their home offices and encourage positive action.

3. Waste Reduction: As we are fully remote, almost all our work is done digitally meaning our consumption of office material such as paper is significantly reduced as well as a reduction in other waste such as perishables and plastic packaging.

4. Productivity and work-life balance: Sustainability doesn’t just refer to resource but also our social impact. Without long commutes and office distractions we have found an increase in productivity and reports of a better work-life balance among employees.

Sustainable Sourcing

We are committed to sourcing materials and products from suppliers that share our values and are taking steps to reduce their own environmental impact. We also take into consideration the certifications and standards of the products we use and are doing ongoing research into the suppliers that support our activities.

Partnerships and Education

We promote sustainable practices and environmental awareness among our employees and customers, however in time we would like to work towards partnering with external, local organisations to continue this promotion outside of our business and improve our social impact.
